The Netflix Tech Blog: Active-Active for Multi-Regional Resiliency
The Netflix team describes how they’ve built an active-active based approach to resiliency on top of Amazon web services. This is a fantastic read if you’re into enterprise architecture. And who isn’t, really?!
The one really interesting element here I think – if you’re talking to vendors who contend that the broader IT community will not be able to provide you with blueprints or logical architecture designs that will help you build your applications, you need to take a look at how folks like Netflix are sharing all of the high level implementation details for a scalable, resilient application. Take a look at the recipes available in Chef, or the modules available for Puppet in the Forge.
